FAISALABAD/ SARGODHA:

Jhang Bazaar police on Monday registered a case against a man for abusing members of an anti-polio team and not allowing them to vaccinate children.

City Police Officer (CPO) Haidar Ashraf told the media that Nazir Ahmad misbehaved with a polio team visiting his house in Gulfishan Colony. “The team asked Ahmad to bring residents under the age of five for administration of polio drops… instead of helping them he flared up and abused the team,” he said. The CPO said a police team had been formed to arrest Ahmad.

“As many as 1,140 mobile teams will vaccinate 546,000 children in the three-day anti-polio drive in Sargodha district,” District Health Officer Muhammad Saleem Akhtar said on Monday. He said foolproof security would be provided to health workers. He said the mobile teams would cover 167 union councils in the district.
