RAWALPINDI:

A man was found dead near a graveyard under unexplained circumstances in Ratta Amral police limits late on Friday. The police registered a blind murder case against unknown persons on the complaint of the deceased’s family.

According to the police, Muhammad Younis’s head was badly smashed.

There were rumours that Younis jumped from a building after the Ratta police raided a gambling den. However, the police rejected the allegation.

“There are some rumours that the police raided a gambling den and Younus jumped from its building. Let me clear that the police didn’t conduct a raid on Friday night,” Investigation Officer of the case Raja Humad told The Express Tribune.

According to sources, the deceased spent few days in Adiala Jail last year after he was found involved in gambling.

The brother of deceased said that they were not sure who killed his brother as he had no enmity with anyone.

When asked about the police raid, he replied: “I have no idea whether the police conducted a raid or not, but one thing is clear that my brother was a gambler and he spent few days in Adiala Jail last year.”
