A brawl broke out between two senior doctors at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital over setting up an office.
DHQ Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Nasir Mehmood took notice of the issue and directed both doctors to appear before him, said sources in the hospital on Friday.
A scuffle occurred between the head of Orthopaedic department Dr Nayyar Qayyum and the head of Radiology department Dr Ijaz when the former asked the latter to shift a Doppler ultrasound machine from a room located in a newly-constructed Modeller operation theatre, because he wanted to establish his office there.
However, Dr Ijaz refused to accept Dr Nayyar’s demand which provoked the scuffle. Dr Nayyar started to hit Dr Ijaz who fell to the ground, sources added. Hearing the noise, hospital staff gathered and pacified the senior doctors.
The MS when contacted said it was an example of irresponsible behaviour by the senior doctors. “I will settle the dispute between them both,” he claimed.
