Two TTP members arrested in Karachi

Police believe that the suspects may have been involved in the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine bombing.

KARACHI: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) in Karachi arrested two terrorists linked to the banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban (TTP) on Monday.

CID raided a house in Sohrab Goth where they arrested Sher Rehman and Zain Ullah alias Bilal. Three other terrorists managed to escape.

Police also recovered two suicide jackets and 22kg of explosives.

SSP Chaudhary Aslam said that the arrested terrorists belong to TTP and are believed to have been training potential suicide bombers.

The police also said that these men could be involved in bombing of Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine.

Last week, the CID disclosed the identification of a suicide bomber Naseebullah, suspected of attacking the shrine.

However, the claim was later refuted by Naseebullah himself, who turned up alive in the Daska area of Sialkot after a few days.

M hassan Waziri | 13 years ago | Reply The arest of these terrorists from Sohrab Goth (strong hold of Afghanis and Pashtuns)clarifies that the Alqaeda, Taliban, Lashkar-e-jhangvi, Sipah-e-Sahaba and other terrorists groups are active in Karachi, particularly in Pashtun dominat areas. Untill the Afghanis return back to their country and crackdown against terrorists groups, our country would face chaos and subnersion.
