Square one: Bannu jail escapee recaptured

Official says Sherwali was arrested for murder on August 13, 2004 and handed 25 years of imprisonment by court.

BANNU: A criminal who escaped during the Bannu jailbreak incident, was apprehended by Ghoriwala police on Sunday. An official of Ghoriwala police, Rizwan Khan, said they raided a house in Baidali Kala on the outskirts of Bannu based on intelligence information. He said the culprit, Sherwali also known as Maltay, was trying to escape but was arrested at gunpoint. Rizwan added that Sherwali was arrested for murder on August 13, 2004 and handed 25 years of imprisonment by a court. On April 14, 2012 he escaped the jail he was being kept at when militants stormed the premises, and was on the run since then.
