US-Pak partnership: Library inaugurated at IUB

Consul General says consulate is grateful to university for providing perfect place for people to access information

BAHAWALPUR: US Consul General Nina M Fite inaugurated the Lincoln Corner at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on Friday. Addressing the ceremony through a video conference, Fite said the US consulate was grateful to the university for providing a perfect place for the people of south Punjab to access resources and information about the United States. She said this was truly a partnership between the people of the United States and Pakistan. She also highlighted the United States’ commitment to Punjab, saying that the US government, through this partnership, believed in a better tomorrow for the youth. “The partnerships to which we aspire are built on common interests and values – and our shared humanity.” She said Lincoln Corners were one of many ways that the US Consulate General Lahore was building bridges between the people of Pakistan and the United States. Islamia University of Bahawalpur Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar was also present on the occasion.
