FAISALABAD: Household effects and sugarcane crop were reduced to ashes in Lundianwala in two fires on Thursday. No one was injured in any of the incidents. The first fire started at the house of Muhammad Ashraf, a resident of Chak 191-RB. Rescue officials said it was probably started due to an electric short-circuit. The fire soon spread to other parts of the house, burning furniture, home appliances and other items. It took fire fighters two hours to put it out. Elsewhere, a man, believed to be a drug addict, set fire to sugarcane crop owned by Muhammad Habib. Police said there was no rivalry between them.
