RAWALPINDI: Superintendent of the Traffic Police (SP) Haseeb Shah, who was removed from his post for ‘misdirecting’ the prime minister’s squad in Murree on Friday, said he was not officially informed about the premier’s destination. Shah was removed from his position on Monday for misdirecting Prime Minster Mian Nawaz Sharif’s convoy. After attending meetings in Murree, the prime minster was scheduled to leave for Islamabad but Shah, who was leading the squad, took a turn towards the prime minster’s residence. After reaching Bagh-e-Shahidian, the PM inquired about the change in his route. Sources said that Sharif took notice of the SPs negligence. Speaking to The Express Tribune, Shah said, “It was the responsibility of Assistant Commissioner Murree to brief me about the destination of the premier. I was told that the PM will go to Bagh-e-Shahidian,” he added.
