New courts : Pending cases to be redistributed

The Lahore High Court has sought lists of pending cases from subordinate courts for redistributing of work load between the sessions courts of Lahore City and New Lahore.


Last week, the Home Department issued a notification giving Lahore City 48 police stations and New Lahore 36 police stations.

LHC officials said all judicial officers had been directed to submit lists of cases pending before all additional district and sessions judges, senior civil judges and judicial magistrates to be re-distributed in the light of new sessions courts for New Lahore.

According to the notification, Rang Mehal, Lohari Gate, Tibbi City, Masti Gate, Yakki Gate, Naulakha, Akbari Gate, Gawalmandi, Mochi Gate, Lower Mall, Bhati Gate, Data Darbar, Islampura, New Anarkalli, Misri Shah, Shadbagh, Badami Bagh, Lorry Adda, Shafiqabad, Ravi Road, Shahdra Town, Shahdra, Defence-A, Defence-B, Factory Area, South Cantt, Sarwar Road, North Cantt, Mustafa Abad, Ghazi Abad, Baghbanpura, Harbancepura, Manawan, Batapur, Burki, Hadiara, Haire, Civil Lines, Race Course, Qial Gujjar Singh, Garhi Shahu, Old Anarkali, Mozang, Lytton Road, Shalimar, Gujjar Pura, Mughalpura and Race Course will be in Lahore City.

Sabzazar, Hanjarwal, Mustafa Town, Chuhng, Nawab Town, Sattukatla, Raiwind, Manga Mandi, Sundar, Township, Johar Town, Green Town, Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Estate, Iqbal Town, Gulshan Iqbal, Muslim Town, Wahdat Colony, Samanabad, Millat Park, Gulshan Ravi, Sanda, Nawan Kot, Shera Kot, Ichra, Shadman, Gulber, Ghalib Market, Garden Town, Faisal Town, Model Town, Liaquatabad, Naseerabad, Kot Lakhpat, Nishtar Colony and Kahna will be in New Lahore.

The district and sessions judge of Lahore City will set up court at Awan-i-Adl and New Lahore courts will be set up at the Sessions Court Complex.
