In case of emergency: Doctors can buy drugs outside hospitals

PGMI principal Anjum Habib Vohra says doctors on administrative posts should ensure medical cover to patients.

LAHORE: “Additional medical superintendents and deputy medical superintendents of evening and night shifts at the Lahore General Hospital have been authorised to purchase medicines from private dispensaries in case of emergency,” PGMI principal Anjum Habib Vohra said on Saturday. He said doctors on administrative posts should ensure medical cover to patients. He said doctors would be held responsible in case of shortage of drugs. He said a notification in this regard had been issued. He said doctors would also monitor presence of duty nurses, paramedics and doctors during their shifts and send daily reports about the absent staff.
