Pakistan railways: Board to be reconstituted

Vigilance cell reactivated with energetic officers, who have started monitoring activities of field officers.

ISLAMABAD: A summary for reconstitution of Pakistan Railways board has been submitted to the Law and Parliamentary Affairs Division, Finance and Establishment Divisions simultaneously. According to an official, meetings with the Finance and Establishment Divisions are scheduled during this month and after receiving their inputs a final draft will be submitted to the Cabinet Division for approval. He said the appointment of Director General Legal Affairs was in process and would be completed after meeting all formalities. “The vigilance cell has been reactivated with young and energetic officers, who have started monitoring the activities of field officers and officials,” he said, adding corrupt officers working on key posts had been replaced.
