Sahibzada Nadeem Sultan of Darbar Aaliya Sakhi Sultan Bahu in Jhang called on former deputy prime minister Chaudhary Parvez Elahi to announce his decision to join Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-i-Azam).
PML-Q Punjab Senior Vice President Muhammad Basharat Raja was also present. Elahi said Sultan would lead the PML-Q Punjab Ulema-o-Mashaikh Wing. Sultan expressed his confidence in the leadership of Chaudhary Shujat Hussain. He added that the Muslim League had created Pakistan and had always acknowledged the religious leaders’ role.
Elahi said the Pakistan Muslime League-Quaid had always respected the ulema, and that under the Muslim League’s flag they had played an important role during the Pakistan Movement.
