ISLAMABAD:

The issuance of two date sheets by the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) for the upcoming centralized examination of Class V has caused confusion among the students and teachers of public and private schools.

Private School Network (PSN) President Dr Afzal Babar said that around 27,000 students from the capital’s educational institutions would appear in the Class V examination.

According to the first date sheet issued, the exams will be held from February 25 to March 4 based on a new pattern. The second date sheet says that the internal exams of Class V will be held from March 4 to March 17 based on the old pattern.

Dr Babar said that previously, students who appeared in the centralized exams would not appear in the internal exams, while both the date sheets include the exams of Class V and VIII. He complained that FDE has abruptly introduced the new pattern of examination for Class V on December 26, with the last date for submission of forms being December 24.

Moreover, FDE has yet to announce the result of Class V examination held last year.
