RAWALPINDI:

A narcotics control judge, on Tuesday, warned Ali Musa Gilani’s counsel that his bail would be cancelled if he failed to appear before the court in the ephedrine case.

Other suspects including former federal minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin and former federal health secretary Khushnood Lashari showed up in the court of Control of Narcotics Substance special judge Akhtar Bahadur to receive the final charge-sheets from the Anti-Narcotics Force.

The judge expressed anger over Ali’s non-appearance and asked his counsel to ensure his presence on the next hearing. The court adjourned the hearing till February 12.

The case against former PM Yousaf Raza Gilani’s son Ali, a former parliamentarian, was strengthened after Tauqir Khan became a state approver. According to the ANF, Khan was Ali’s front man and the mediator between health officials and Berlex and Danas.
