Four arrested: Heroin smuggling bid foiled

Anti Narcotics Force claims to have arrested four drug smugglers and seized narcotics.

RAWALPINDI: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Rawalpindi on Monday claimed to have arrested four drug smugglers from Benazir Bhutto International Airport and seized narcotics from their possession. A spokesman said that an ANF team arrested two foreign nationals — Iichenna Mbaogu from Nigeria and Lelita Porecare Graciano from the Philippines and recovered 1.3 kg of cocaine from their luggage. They were both coming from Dubai on a foreign airline. Meanwhile, an ANF team also arrested Mehdi Hassan and recovered 0.235 kg of methamphetamines from his bag. According to the ANF, the suspect also confessed to have swallowed 30 heroin-filled capsules. He was booked for Saudia Arabia on a foreign airline. The same team also arrested Tariq Mehmood, who confessed to having swallowed 33 heroin-filled capsules. He was booked for Greece on a foreign airline.
