LAHORE:

The Lahore Transport Company has launched an SMS service to facilitate commuters using public transport in the city.

The LTC Mobile SMS Service will help people access information regarding various routes and notified fares for buses, mini buses and wagons.

Information regarding initiatives like student green cards and free transport for senior and disabled citizens is also accessible on sending an SMS to 03320-582582. Lahore Transport Company Chief Executive Officer Khawaja Haider Latif told the details of the project at a meeting at the LTC office on Monday.

He said the service was user-friendly. “The Lahore Transport Company is aware of new trends in the public transport system and is planning several new projects of public interest,” he said.

There are 50 high occupancy routes in the city, of which only 32 are operational.
