At the helm: Dr Inamul Haq Javed new MD of NBF

He has to his credit over 20 research and translation books and as many collections of poetry.

Educationist, writer, poet Dr Inamul Haq Javed on Friday took over charge of Managing Director of the National Book Foundation, said a press release.


Earlier he has served at key positions in Pakistan Academy of Letters, National Language Promotion Department, Allama Iqbal Open University and Al-Khair University.

He has to his credit over 20 research and translation books and as many collections of poetry. His work has received recognition by the government and literary circles. Some of his books are included in the syllabi of various universities.

A recipient of the “Pride of Performance” presidential award, he was recently awarded Waris Shah Award for his Punjabi book “Moj Maila.”

He has also vast experience in publishing and produced eight voluminous books related to 18 important languages being spoken in Pakistan.

Prof Javed has represented Pakistan in many countries and participated in 60 literary conferences and poetry recitals including America and Britain. Being an eminent host of many literary TV programmes, he had been hosting “Sukhan Rung” programme of PTV.
