Khattak, while addressing the opening ceremony, particularly mentioned software development as a major industry which can provide jobs and ensure opportunities for the youth. He added the goal is to have a province where no IT graduate is unemployed. At the event, Tarakai said he supported the idea of e-governance and a strong IT sector for K-P. According to data presented at the event, there are only 70 IT firms registered in K-P and the government aims to take them to 100. To boost the industry further, a subsidy of 80% and other essential facilities are being offered, which are expected to attract foreign investment for the sector.
