KARACHI: A sector in-charge of Pakistan Sunni Tehrik (PST) was allegedly killed due to police torture in Malir on Thursday. Police said the victim was involved in kidnapping a girl.

A spokesperson of PST, Fahim Sheikh, said that victim Muhammad Noman Qadri was arrested by the Khokrapar police over some allegedly fake cases. “After torturing him severely, the police left him at Jinnah hospital where he died during treatment,” he claimed. Meanwhile, Khokrapar police denied these allegations and said that the victim was involved in the kidnapping of a 15-year-old girl.

The girl’s father had registered an FIR No. 20/14, under section 365/B against Qadri.  The officer said that Qadri was a heart patient and died due to cardiac arrest.
