RAWALPINDI:

The Waris Khan police have failed to make any headway in arresting the people responsible for slaughtering a man before throwing his body on a rooftop.

However, the police suspected that someone from the victim’s family might have been involved in the murder.

Rizwan, 26, was found dead on the roof of his neighbours’ house in Ghangi Mullah on Wednesday. The deceased’s mother had nominated Muhammad Ishfaq and his unidentified accomplices in the FIR.

Police said that last year Rizwan’s wife Nazia* had also gone missing from her house and he (Rizwan) had lodged a kidnapping case against Ishfaq. The police said that Nazia returned home after three months.

The deceased’s mother told the police that since Nazia returned home, Ishfaq had been threatening Rizwan and the family.  “The man had been ruthlessly slaughtered and his screams must have been stifled. There is something fishy. It seems, the crime has been committed with the connivance of an insider,” said SI Risalat Hussain, who is investigating the case.
