A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Punjab Urban Unit and the government of Balochistan to share expertise in various sectors.


According to the MoU, expertise would be shared in town planning, urban development, regional planning, urban transport, solid waste management, water and sanitation, environment management, legal and institutional development, capacity development, municipal finance, urban economics, information and communication technology, knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation and related fields.

The agreement was signed by Punjab Minister for Local Government and Community Development Rana Sanaullah Khan and Balochistan Minister for Local The MoU states that the Urban Unit and the Local government and Community Department Punjab shall be the focal bodies that will provide services. The LG Department will facilitate experts of the Urban Unit in their visits to Balochistan and provide support.
