Holy slippers: Judge directs police to submit report

LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge issued directions on Wednesday to the investigation officer (IO) of a case involving slippers attributed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that were stolen from Badshahi Masjid.

He ordered the IO to submit a report under Section 173 (every investigation under this Chapter shall be completed without unnecessary delay, and then forwarded to a magistrate or the petitioner) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

The court directed the IO to submit a report in the concerned court and arrest the culprits.

He was also directed to conclude the matter strictly in accordance with law at the earliest.
