MIRPUR: Kashmiris living on both sides of the line of control — in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Indian Kashmir — as well as the rest of the world observed the Indian Republic Day as black day to remind the world that India’s continued denial of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination is contrary to its claim of being a democratic republic. In AJK the protest rallies and demonstrations were held against continued illegal Indian occupation of a bulk part of Jammu & Kashmir. Protesters called upon the world community to ensure peaceful solution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and Kashmiri people’s wishes.
