ISLAMABAD:

Higher education opens up unlimited vistas and possibilities of success and growth for graduates if they opted for a career.

This was said by Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar while speaking at the convocation of the Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) held at the Jinnah Convention Centre on Thursday.

As many as 1,491 students in different disciplines including 21 M Phil students and one PhD scholar were awarded degrees. A total of 43 gold and 42 silver medals were also awarded among the position holders with cash prize.

While congratulating the students, Sarwar said, “You are privileged to have an opportunity to study and it is your responsibility to think about the underprivileged, who don’t have access to education at all.” Money is not a criteria for success, it is what you do for others, he added.

“We have to work together to take our country forward along the path of inclusive growth and development through intellectual and scientific know-how.”

FJWU Vice Chancellor Dr Samina Qadir said, “You are the future of this great nation and you must have dreams and be eager to shape them.” “I wish you success in every endeavour that adds to the glory of our great nation,” she added.

She said that the university believed in developing and strengthening academic linkages with leading national and international universities and research institutions.
