LAHORE:

Jamaat-e-Islami lashed out at Pakistan’s permanent envoy in United Nations Masood Ahmed Khan for his remarks to Dhaka’s envoy calling the sentences handed down against war crimes an ‘internal matter’.

“According to the prevailing rules the tribunals are neither courts of law nor have any legal or ethical justification. Additionally, when Awami League government is being unjust there is room to react and comment on it at an international level. Moreover, human rights and right of justice are not national issues, rather, according to UN charter it is an issue of international association,” Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawwar Hasan said.

He added that Pakistan is directly affected by this issue as it runs with reference to the united Pakistan and it is addressed to the state.

He further stated that Pakistan’s foreign ministry and envoys were not above the Parliament and were bound to represent the wishes of the people of Pakistan.

Our 1971 Genocide forced the East Pakistanis to separate and establish a separate country. Now they are no longer Pakistanis. Let us forget what is happening there now, and fix the problems occurring here.
