TIRAH VALLEY: Nineteen bodies were recovered from a pile of rubble after recent bombing in the Tirah Valley, Express News reported on Wednesday.

The death toll from the military offensive has risen to 35.

Fighter jets and helicopter gunships had earlier bombed hideouts of suspects in the tribal regions of North Waziristan and Khyber.

The air strikes – targeting hideouts in Mir Ali, Miramshah and Tirah Valley – came in response to the recent surge in militant attacks targeting security forces.

A security official had claimed that four hideouts were flattened in the blitz in the Inzar Kor area of the remote valley.

The official had dismissed suggestion that the attacks were a formal launch of a military offensive against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its affiliates.
