ISLAMABAD:
The local police have failed to make headway in the investigation into the murder of a woman, who was found dead at her house in Sector F-8/3 on Monday. The body of Hanifa Anwar, 75, wife of a former Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) Chairman C.M. Anwar, was found on Monday. She had apparently died of head injuries. According to police she had been hit on the head with a blunt object some five days back. The local police, upon receiving information, reached the House in Street 13 and shifted the body to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims). As per preliminary investigations, there were torture marks on her face and head, and her feet were tied with a rope. The weapon with which the victim had been tortured was also found near her body.
