
Two suspects were killed in an alleged encounter with the police within the limits of Kharadar police station, on Monday night.
Police officials said that the encounter took place when armed motorcyclists opened fire at a police vehicle, stationed near Phool Chowk, Kharadar. In the retaliatory fire by the police, two of the four assailants were shot dead. Their companions managed to escape under the cover of fire. The deceased were later identified as Jan Muhammad alias Janu and Jawad alias Current.
SHO Idrees Bangash claimed that the suspects were involved in a number of cases, including the murder of a CID officer, extortion and kidnapping for ransom.
Meanwhile, Rangers claim to have rescued an abducted person during a raid in Kunwari Colony, Manghopir. At least nine other suspects were apprehended from the area. Separately, two suspects, Shahbaz, alias Munna, and Adnan were arrested by Super Market police. SHO Anzar Alam claimed that the suspects were involved in around 10 cases of target killings, including the murder of a former union council nazim.
