QUETTA:

The Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) called for a three-day mourning period to mark the killing of three Express News TV staffers. BUJ members protested outside the Quetta Press Club on Monday against the killings as well as an attempt to kidnap Al Jazeera TV bureau chief Ahmed Ali Ziadan in Islamabad. The protest call was given by the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists.

BUJ President Irfan Saeed and Quetta Press Club President Raza Rehman said the attacks are ‘an attempt to suppress the voice of media’. A black flag will be hoisted at the press club and journalists will wear black arm-bands over the next three days.
