KARACHI: Three suspects slipped out of the custody of an investigation officer after the Sindh High Court (SHC) turned down their request for bail in a kidnapping case, witnesses and officials told The Express Tribune. According to witnesses, the suspects, Naimatullah, Bahauddin and Shamsuddin, had applied for pre-arrest bail in a case relating to the kidnapping of a person to dissuade him from joining an ongoing investigation. “The three slipped away from the court premises while hoodwinking the investigation officer,” a witness said. Sindh High Court officials also said the suspects managed to escape due to negligence on the part of the investigation officer. Registrar Faheem Siddiqui said that his office had immediately taken notice of the incident, adding that an investigation had found that there was neither a security lapse, nor were the law enforcers posted in the court premises responsible for the escape.
