Punjab Youth Festival: Active participation on third day of tehsil games

As many as 85,300 players participated in Lahore.

The tehsil level competitions of the Punjab Youth Festival continued on Monday with great fervor. As many as 85,300 players participated, with 21,850 winning.


In Shalimar Town, 621 players participated in various games and 65 emerged as winners. Sajjad won the arm-wrestling title. Young Stars beat Team Dashing for the cricket title.

As many as 195 athletes took part in sports events in Wagha Town. Eighty-three emerged winners. Akram won the arm wrestling contest and Pervez finished second. Anees Javed won the badminton title. Nadeem won the billiards competition. Wagha Town’s cricket title was clinched by Team Akram against Team Tufan. Ramazan won the mini marathon race. The chess title went to Liaqat.

In Samanabad Town, 358 players took part in different events and 34 emerged as winners.  The participation in Ravi Town was thinner and only 210 players competed, with 14 winners.

In Data Ganj Bakhsh Town, 275 competitors took part in competitions out of which 34 emerged winners. 276 players participated in Gulberg Town and 122 won competitions. The number of participants in Aziz Bhatti Town was 200 with 82 winners. The cricket title for the town went to UC 56, who defeated UC 57 by seven wickets. In Iqbal Town, a small number of participants, 28, competed in PYF events and 14 emerged as winners.

Other areas in the Lahore division, such as Sheikupura, Nankana Sahib and Kasur, also saw enthusiastic participation with 10,334 participants and 1,730 winners.

Similarly, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chinoit in Faisalabad district attracted 602 players for various competitions, out of which 301 won competitions.
