Possessiveness: Wife, her male friend attacked with knife

Fayaz had found his wife Mariana Bibi*and a man in a room when he returned home from work.

A man injured his wife and who she said was her male friend on Monday by attacking them with a knife, police said. He had suspected them of infidelity, police said.

Police said Muhammad Fayaz, a resident of Riazpura, had found his wife Mariana Bibi*and a man in a room when he returned home from work. Police said without asking her who he was, he attacked them both with a knife lying on the table that Mariana Bibi had apparently used to cut fruit for the guest. Some neighbours, who had heard them shout for help, had called Rescue 1122. The injured were taken to a hospital, where doctors said that the man was in critical condition. Mariana Bibi told police that the man was “just a friend who was visiting her”. Agoki Station House Officer Inspector Sajjad Bajwa said that they had yet to receive a complaint.
