Subversive acts: Sania Naz’s house ‘attacked’ in Lyari

A young man was found dead in Bihar Colony within the limits of Chakiwara police station of Lyari.

“Naz immediately informed us as she was receiving threats by the Baba Ladla group of Lyari,” DSP Mirani told The Express Tribune.

Armed gangsters reportedly attacked the house of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Sania Naz around Aath Chowk in Lyari on Friday evening.


Law enforcers reached the site and cordoned off the area. DSP Ghulam Murtaza Mirani said that initial investigation suggests that the gangsters had opened fire not at her home but near her residence.

“Naz immediately informed us as she was receiving threats by the Baba Ladla group of Lyari,” DSP Mirani told The Express Tribune. “We have already beefed up security for her.”

A young man was found dead in Bihar Colony within the limits of Chakiwara police station of Lyari. The deceased has yet to be identified. Police officials said that the deceased was kidnapped and tortured before being shot dead. Police officials suspected that armed gangsters were behind the incident. The body of the victim was shifted to the Edhi morgue, Sohrab Goth, for identification.

Meanwhile, there were also unconfirmed reports about the killing of Zahid Ladla, son of Baba Ladla. DSP Mirani, however, said that the police had no confirmation about his injury or death.
