NOWSHERA: An electricity tower was partially destroyed when a bomb planted by unidentified militants went off in Risalpur, Nowshera on Friday. Two other bombs planted there were, however, defused by the bomb disposal squad (BDS). DPO Rabnawaz Khan said the incident occurred at around 11:30am when one of the three bombs, each weighing 1.5 kilogrammes, went off under an electricity pylon in Khitab Korona. Risalpur police and BDS officials rushed to the site and surrounded the area. The other two bombs were defused with the help of the BDS. The official said militants were trying to destroy the 50KV transmission line but failed to do so. Electricity supply remained uninterrupted and a case was filed.
