Tourism and sports: Camel contest takes place in Cholistan

RAHIM YAR KHAN: The annual competition ‘King of Rohi’ took place at Head Qasim in Cholistan. Camels from all over the country arrived in Cholistan. Four main competitions took place.

In the first match, Rana Gunji’s camel from Jalalpur Peer ‘Chota Sanwal’ defeated Rah Gul Sher’s camel ‘Deewana’. A camel from Chuni Gotah won the second match. Kamil Mushtaq Ghauri’s camel Jhanda won a match as well. Apart from these, there were many local matches that took place. Camels that won were decorated with ‘Faridi’ handkerchiefs. Provincial and national assembly members, district coordination officers, and hundreds of people from the area participated in the event.
