KARACHI: Amanullah Marri, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional's (PML-F) leader from Sanghar district announced his decision to join the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) on Wednesday.

Marri, an influential landlord of the district, made the announcement after meeting with former president Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House in Karachi.

This is the fourth local leader of PML-F from Sindh in two months to have jumped the ship to join the ruling party.

Earlier, PML-F's former MPA Rana Sattar quit amid differences with the party's local leadership.

The Pir of Ranipur, Niaz Shah Jeelani had also parted ways with PML-F along with Syed Mohammad Shah and Chakar Khan Shahani who were working as president and vice-president of the party in Dadu district.

PPP leaders have claimed that many influential leaders of PML-N and other parties have approached them and will formally join the party before the local government elections in Sindh.

While PPP claim people are joining the party because of its popularity among the masses and the party's work toward democracy, PML-F leaders are playing it down as 'horse trading' before the polls.

The PPP, Pakistani feudal party, is only bringing back it's old disgruntled members back into the fold. Nothing new or suprising. It'll still remaon the same corrupt party as it was under Zardari.

Mirza | 10 years ago | Reply PML from A to Z do not exist in Sindh. They are those who are the worst landlords and pirs who have exploited their subjects. PPP being a socialist party (at least on paper) has no room for them. Hence they go in opposition when PPP is weak and come back when it is strong. All these opportunists need is a ticket for the elections.
