Security: Arrangements made for Eid Miladun Nabi

Bahawalpur Regional Police Officer Shahid Hanif says nearly 3,000 police officials will be on duty.

Foolproof arrangements have been made for the 140 processions planned in the division for 12th Rabiul Awal (today), Bahawalpur Regional Police Officer Shahid Hanif told the media on Monday. He said nearly 3,000 police officials will be on duty in this regard.


The regional police officer said that 20 naat mehfils and two seerat conferences would also be held. He said eight walkthrough gates would be installed at various locations, participants would be thoroughly frisked. He said 640 metal detectors will be used. Of the 67 processions planned in Bahawalpur district, 12 had been declared sensitive, he said, and four of the 70 milaad mehfils planned had been declared sensitive. The regional police officer  said seven district superintendents, 28 inspectors, 65 sub inspectors, 70 assistant sub inspectors, 30 head constables, 476 constables and 372 special forces’ officials would be deployed in the city.
