Police register FIR against 16 suspects for murder of PTI leader near Kasur

Bhatti was killed along with four other people when their convoy was ambushed on Ferozepur Road.

KASUR: A First Information Report (FIR) was filed against 16 suspects for the murder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Maqsood Bhatti and four others, Express News reported on Sunday.

The FIR mentions ten of the suspects by name while six are unidentified. However, no arrests have been made as yet.

Bhatti was killed along with four other people on Saturday evening when their convoy was ambushed near Kasur.

The attackers, believed to be on motorcycles, had riddled the two cars with bullets. Bhatti was travelling in his SUV along with three guards.

According to police, the attack seems to be motivated by personal enmity.

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and had demanded a report from IG police.
