Parliamentary progress: Senate elects standing panel heads

Afrasiab Khattak, Dr Saeeda Iqbal, Baz Muhammad Khan, Mushahidullah Khan elected Chairpersons of the Senate panels.

ISLAMABAD: The upper house of the Parliament on Thursday elected heads of four newly constituted standing committees. According to an official statement, Senators Afrasiab Khattak, Dr Saeeda Iqbal, Baz Muhammad Khan and Mushahidullah Khan were elected Chairpersons of the Senate panels. Senator Afrasiab Khattak was elected as the Chairman of Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights, Senator Dr Saeeda Iqbal was elected to head Senate Standing Committee on Defence Production, Senator Baz Muhammad Khan was selected to chair the Senate Standing Committee on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan. Similarly, Senator Mushahidullah Khan was elected as the Chairman of Senate Standing Committee on Industries and Productions.
