FAISALABAD:

A boy who had been abducted from Yasir Town, in the jurisdiction of Dijkot police, three weeks ago was found murdered on Tuesday night.

The boy’s father, Yameen, told the media that Waseem, 14, used to work at a coal factory. He went to work on December 14 but did not return, he said.

“We looked for him everywhere but couldn’t find him,” he said. “We then filed an abduction complaint with the Dijkot Police.” The police looked for the boy for three weeks but found no leads. “On Tuesday night, police told us that they had found about an unidentified body lying near Hari Singh Bypass.”

“It was Waseem,” said the father. The body had decayed so that the identification was based on the dress “he was wearing the clothes he wore the last time I saw him,” Yameen said.

The Dijkot station house officer said the body had been sent to a mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Further action would be decided on receipt of the post-mortem report, he said.
