ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority on Tuesday constituted a special team to keep a check on ever-increasing usage of residential units for non-conforming purposes.

The team will include the CDA Municipal Administration director, the ICT assistant commissioner city, and the deputy directors for Building Control and Trade Licenses.

A spokesperson for the civic body said the decision was taken in the wake of complaints lodged by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and several trade unions against the non-conforming use.

The said team on Tuesday visited sectors F-6 and F-7 and served notices to violators.

“The CDA chairman has directed this team to take action across the board without any fear or favour. This operation will be extended to whole city in upcoming days,” the spokesperson added.
