Paharipura police station investigation officer Shaheenullah produced 25-year-old Sapna Rani, an adherent of the Hindu faith, in the court of Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Fayyaz Khan. He informed the court she was abducted from Dalazak Road, and was then successfully traced and recovered by the police from Khairpur.
Rani informed the court she was going back home after school when unidentified people put a handkerchief on her mouth and she lost consciousness. She said when she opened her eyes, she found herself at an unknown location.
The court, after hearing the police official and the teacher, ordered the police station to have a medical test conducted and present its report to the court within three days.
At the time of the alleged kidnapping, Rani’s father Faqir Chand had said his daughter was a teacher at the Peshawar Science Academy near Ayub Flour Mill on GT Road and pleaded to the authorities to find her and bring her home.
