Amy Adams VS Sandra Bullock

With a new year comes a new line-up of international film festivals. First on the calendar was the 25th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival held in California it saw the finest of Hollywood actors walk the red carpet with sheer elegance.

We won’t say that the starry night was completely a hit since there were a couple of eyesores and misses on the red carpet. However, we simply couldn’t resist falling in love with the following two fashionistas. Here is a breakdown of why they are our picks for this week:

Amy Adams

Hair and make-up

The princess from Andalasia looked ethereal in a sleek centre-parted updo and delicate make-up. While we have been advocates of voluminous hairdos, we prefer Amy’s choice and feel that it complements with her attire well. However, Amy would have definitely taken her look a notch up if she had focused more on her eyes and not made them appear like as if they have mascara clumped on them.

Outfit

My, my! Amy has really taken her style to the next level in this chic halter neck gown by designer Juan Carlos Obando. With two different polka dot patterns separated by a plain black waist panel, the dress is flattering on her and the thigh-high slit adds to the sex appeal of the dress. Kudos to Amy for the ‘spot-on’ choice!

Accessories and shoes

The Oscar-nominated actor accessorised her ensemble with elegant Cartier jewels and nude Casadei heels. Though the neutral heels match with her rather minimal make-up, we would have preferred a pair of black Louboutins instead. Nonetheless, we are truly in awe of Amy’s sophisticated look.

Sandra Bullock

Hair and make-up

Actor Sandra Bullock wore her straight, sleek hair loose. Although we have previously suggested that she should experiment when it comes to hairdos, we feel this time around it suits her attire completely. Her peachy pink make-up is flawless and makes her appear far younger than she is.

Outfit

Sandra looks like the belle of the ball in this bright, peekaboo, figure-hugging dress by Alex Perry. The dress fits her like a glove and the lace and embroidery detailing on the sleeves and the neckline adds to the femininity and delicacy of the look.

Accessories and shoes

The 49-year-old actor chose not to flaunt any accessories and with that hot splash of colour, none were needed, really. We would have appreciated a bangle or two or a pair of pearl studs though. She is sporting a pair of nude Brian Atwood heels and a shimmering Jimmy Choo clutch and we think they are both flawless!
