MULTAN:

Five members of a family including two minors were killed in a road accident in Bhakkar on Friday night.

Police said Muhammad Hanif, 35, was travelling on a motorcycle with his family when they were hit by a rashly-driven bus near NLC petrol pump on the National Highway, connecting Mianwali with Multan.

Rescuers said Hanif, his four-year-old son, Rehan, another two-year-old son, Farhan, and a cousin Muhammad Mustafa, 37, died on the spot.

They said Hanif’s wife was taken to district headquarters hospital in Bhakkar where she later died.

Station House Officer Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor told the media that the police were looking for the driver of the bus. He said some witnesses had told police that Hanif tried to cross the highway from the wrong side. An investigation was underway, he said.
