World bank: Govt to upgrade standard of education

KARACHI: Sindh government with the help of the World Bank will upgrade the standard of education in schools in Karachi. The scheme was initiated under Sindh Education Reform Programme. Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, while chairing a meeting, directed deputy commissioners (DCs) to ensure close coordination with education officers in each district to help compile lists of schools that need repairs and refurbishment. The DCs have also been asked to provide the list of girls that are best entitled to scholarships.
