Education: Student facilitation centre inaugurated at UAF

UAF has introduced as many as 32 new degree programs in recent years to produce demand-driven manpower.

A state of the art Student Facilitation Centre was inaugurated at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) on Wednesday. The centre aims to provide modern facilities for fee payment. The centre, which is under the Treasure Office, was inaugurated by UAF Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan. 


The vice-chancellor said the UAF had revamped academic, research and outreach programs. They have introduced as many as 32 new degree programs in recent years to produce demand-driven manpower. New academic disciplines have been added to further expertise in the energy sector, food industry, microbiology, biotechnology, environmental sciences, food and nutrition, climate change, pharmacy, IT sector, rural development and education. He added that they are focusing research on the aim of solving problems in line with international standards. He said a comprehensive system has been developed to make education affordable for disadvantages groups. At present, 26 percent of students receive financial assistance, he added.
