Rahim Yar Khan police registered 14,505 cases in the year 2013.


Twenty seven police stations in the area registered 201 murder cases, 175 attempted murders, 819 cases of street crime, 76 cases of resisting police, 59 government rule violations, 169 kidnappings, 11 cases of kidnapping for ransom, 512 cases of kidnapping and rape, 197 rape cases, three brothel cases, 73 deadly accidents, 178 minor accidents, 100 gambling cases and 6,145 miscellaneous cases, including petty crime.

There were 60 cases of burglaries with three cases of murder during burglary, three cases of robbery by car, 18 cases of robbery by motorcycle, 15 cases of robbery by other vehicle, two cases of car snatching, 157 cases of motorcycle snatching, three cases of other vehicle snatching, 589 trespass cases, 364 cases of motorcycle theft, nine cases of car theft, 12 cases of other vehicle theft and 431 cases of cattle theft.

Police took action against 11,548 criminals during the year. Fourteen violators and 147 habitual criminals were arrested and sent to jail.

They also took action against illegal weapon possession and recovered 11 Kalashnikov rifles, a Stein gun, 29 rifles, 56 shot-guns, 109 revolvers, 127 carbines, four daggers and 2910 rounds of ammunition.

In a campaign against drugs, police recovered 457 grams of heroin, 8,577.70 kilograms of hashish, 48.79 kg of opium, 31,127 liters of liquor and 347 active furnaces. They arrested 22 people for being drunk.
