LAHORE: Ninety-three cases of dengue fever were confirmed in Lahore by various hospitals in between Tuesday and Wednesday.

This took the total number of confirmed dengue cases in the city to 344 in the last 30 days.

The spike in dengue cases can be attributed to the failure of the district administration for starting its anti-mosquito campaign about three months late.

Normally, repellent is sprayed in mosquito infested areas in the beginning of July, but this year the spraying began in September.

Most Dengue cases have been reported in Kot Khwaja Saeed, Misri Shah, Shadbagh, China Scheme, Multan Road, Iqbal Town and Samanabad areas of Lahore, while a total of 429 confirmed cases have been reported in Punjab.
