ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to establish three modern, world-class sports arenas in the federal capital to provide citizens, families and young people with easy access to sports and recreational facilities throughout the year.

The sports arenas will be established at D-12/1, G-11/3 Centre and F-8 Centre as part of the CDA's efforts to promote sports, encourage healthy lifestyles and provide quality recreational facilities to citizens.

The initiative is being undertaken on the directions of Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

According to the CDA administration, the three arenas will provide a range of sports facilities under a unified management system. The arena at D-12/1 will cover 4.2 acres, while those at G-11/3 Centre and F-8 Centre will cover 3.5 acres and 3.2 acres, respectively. Land for all three projects has already been allocated.

The facilities will include indoor swimming pools, branded indoor gyms, football courts, cricket cages, indoor and outdoor padel courts, basketball courts, multipurpose sports halls, indoor children's play areas, health bars, landscaping, parking and dedicated tracks.

The arenas will also provide opportunities for sports training, coaching, tournaments, leagues and community-level activities, while encouraging participation in modern sports such as padel, futsal and cricket.
