Discipline: 92 DHQ hospital employees laid off

The employees were mostly daily wage workers or had been hired on an ad-hoc basis.

FAISALABAD: As many as 92 employees of the divisional headquarters hospital have been laid off for being absent from duties without informing their superiors, Additional Medical Superintendent Habib Buttar told the media on Monday. The employees were mostly daily wage workers or had been hired on an ad-hoc basis. Buttar said that in an inspection, 92 employees including ward servants, ward boys, sweepers and security guards had been found absent. The hospital administration took serious notice of their absence and removed them from service with immediate effect, he said. Of these, 88 employees were daily wage earners and four had been working at the hospital on an ad-hoc basis, he said.
